All Saints Church, OakseyThe rector is also responsible for the parishes of Ashley, Crudwell, Charlton, Hankerton, Minety and Oaksey. He has a heavy workload due to the large area he covers and cannot do as much visiting as he would like. He welcomes calls from anyone who would like to see him. Church service times can be found in the Parish News. Newcomers can be sure of a warm welcome. There is a family service in Oaksey on the fourth Sunday of each month which is a short service specially designed for young children and their parents. This is preceded one hour earlier by Sunday School. Other special services are held from time to time, such as a candlelit Carol service, a Crib service at Christmas and a service on Palm Sunday with donkeys in attendance. The churchwardens can be approached on any matter to do with the church or churchyard, as can any member of the Parochial Church Council. The Parochial Church Council meets quarterly. Other activities connected with the church are the choir, bellringing and flower arranging. Rotas are maintained for church cleaning and churchyard maintenance. If anyone is interested in these activities please contact one of the people listed above. Unfortunately due to previous theft, the church is kept locked, but arrangements can be made with a churchwarden for people who desire access. A short history of All Saints Church is available inside the church. For More Information Click Here |
