We can now start to operate the ‘Community Speedwatch’ scheme previously described – volunteers from the community mounting speed gun checks in the village. In fact the Police list our speeding problem as a current ‘priority’ now. We do need volunteers to be part of a team that can spend an hour or two by the side of the road from time to time. Almost all on the Parish Council seem to want to ‘have a go’! Please contact me if you could give this the time. We firmly believe that increasing the frequency of visual reminders to drivers of the speed limit will have an effect. Robin Rogers.
